What a year!
Thursday, December 21, 2017
At this busiest time of year, we take a moment to revel in the past year’s accomplishments. Thanks to the help of thousands of supporters and Buffalo boosters, 2017 has been a big year at the Richardson Olmsted Campus.
This year, the Richardson officially came back to life with the opening of Hotel Henry Urban Resort Conference Center in the center three buildings. And now you can visit anytime to enjoy a drink or meal at 100 Acres: The Kitchens at Hotel Henry.
In July, we welcomed over 15,000 people and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra to celebrate our history at enLIGHTen. In August, we hosted Slow Roll Buffalo and Buffalo Reading Invasion took over the South Lawn at the end of the summer.
And just last month, you helped us raise thousands of dollars on #GivingTuesday to support the future of this National Historic Landmark.
But there’s still so much more to look forward to!
We’ve redeveloped 3 of the 13 buildings – but that means we still have 350,000 square feet and 25 acres left to be saved.
We’re excited to find new uses for the rest of the Richardson and launch the Lipsey Architecture Center of Buffalo in 2018, with exhibits and events dedicated to sharing the incredible architectural treasures of Buffalo.
Right now, we’re racing to the end of our Renaissance Campaign for the Richardson Olmsted Campus and $2.5 million is on the line if we can raise what's left of the $5 million Lipsey Challenge.
2017 was an incredible year at the Richardson and you can help make next year even more full of life, joy, and community by donating today.
We here at the Richardson wish you and yours a warm and wonderful holiday season. Here’s to another outstanding year in 2018!
